Revolutionizing battery testing – cyclers versus DC power supplies

Battery testing is critical in energy storage, EV development and industrial applications. While both battery cyclers and bidirectional DC power supplies offer controlled power and energy recovery, their functionalities vary. Battery cyclers specialize in precise charge/discharge cycles, battery aging analysis and efficiency testing. Meanwhile, bidirectional DC power supplies provide stable voltage and current with advanced regeneration capabilities, making them versatile for battery simulation and power conversion testing. This session will explore key differences, real-world applications and how to choose the right solution for optimized performance, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in energy testing.
